Hyundai releases N Brand rolling lab development video with peek of Ioniq 5 N



(December 5, 2022) SEOUL — Hyundai has released a video about its high-performance N Brand and the RN22e and N Vision 74 rolling labs that are facilitating its electrified future. The video also features a glimpse of IONIQ 5 N, making its first official appearance, wrapped in a special camouflage pattern of pixels and checkered flags.

Bentley’s ultimate grand tourer begins real-world testing



(December 3, 2022) CREWE, England — The Bentley Batur has begun real-world road trials across Europe. Following its debut at Monterey Car Week in August and attendance at numerous events for Bentley Customers, global media and the public, two development Baturs are now starting a rigorous program of tests to ensure the highest standards of vehicle performance and quality. The limited series of just 18 examples are due to begin deliveries mid-2023 after completion and sign-off of an extensive engineering program.

Kia America posts best-ever November sales



(December 2, 2022) IRVINE, Calif. — Kia America announced best-ever November sales of 56,703 units, an 8-percent increase over the previous November sales record set in 2016, and a 25.1-percent improvement year-over-year. For the second consecutive month, sales were led by the Sportage family of SUVs, which were up 144-percent over the same period a year ago. Sales of Kia’s electrified models — which have posted double or triple-digit gains in the past five months — also contributed to the record-breaking performance with a 133-percent year-over-year increase.  

A Gremlin convention



Three mid-1970s AMC Gremlins are living together in retirement in a Utah salvage yard. The Gremlin is a subcompact introduced in 1970, manufactured and marketed in a single, two-door body style (1970–1978) by American Motors Corporation (AMC).  Using a shortened Hornet platform, the Gremlin was classified as an economy car and competed with the Chevrolet Vega and Ford Pinto. The Gremlin reached a total production of 671,475 over a single generation.

Production begins for first-ever BMW XM at Spartanburg plant



(December 2, 2022) SPARTANBURG, S.C.  — Series production for the first-ever BMW XM has started at BMW Manufacturing in Spartanburg, SC. The BMW XM will be built alongside the BMW X5, BMW X6, and BMW X7 on the same assembly line. The BMW XM is the first ever high-performance car with an electrified drive system from BMW M. A plug-in hybrid system comprising a V8 gasoline engine and an exceptionally powerful electric motor endows the BMW XM.

Toyota Grand Highlander to make world premiere in February
