This 1955 Oldsmobile was found in retirement in Utah. Oldsmobile was enjoying remarkable popularity in the mid-50s with some creative styling and its Rocket 88 advertising. The GM brand ranked fifth in sales behind Chevrolet, Ford, Buick, and Plymouth with 583,179 units sold

Milltek Sport continues USA expansion in performance exhausts   



(December 8, 2022) Following the recent opening of its brand-new facility in Alcoa, Tenn., and the official launch of Milltek Corp at the SEMA Show, Milltek Sport has announced a series of performance exhaust systems for homegrown American domestic market models. The new premium performance exhausts are available for the Jeep Gladiator 3.6L V6, Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, Ram 1500 (Gen 5) 5.7 Hemi V8 and the Ram TRX 6.2 Supercharged.

GM advances dealer community charging program



(December 8, 2022) DETROIT — GM celebrated the official launch of its Dealer Community Charging Program with the installation of the first community charging stations in Wisconsin and Michigan. Since the program was announced in late 2021, nearly 1,000 GM dealers have enrolled — representing almost a quarter of all GM dealers in North America. The program initially opened to Chevrolet dealers earlier this year and will expand to Buick, GMC and Cadillac dealers in January 2023.

Scottish-built Munro MK1 electric 4X4 called 'world's most capable'



(December 8, 2022) GLASGOW, Scotland — Munro Vehicles, a manufacturer of all-electric 4x4s, and Scotland’s only volume production car company, has unveiled its first vehicle, the Munro Mk1. Designed, engineered, and built in Britain, the Munro MK1 is "the world’s most capable all-electric 4x4," born off-road to navigate the most challenging terrain and operating for up to 16 hours on a single battery charge.

VW starts update program for ID.4 software with performance improvements



(December 7, 2022) HERNDON, Va. — Volkswagen of America has announced the next advancement of the ID.4 EV with software updates. New features to enhance the charging experience and further improve system performance will be available on MY21 and certain MY22 vehicles. This first update is a prerequisite for future features. Eligible vehicle owners will receive formal notification once the update is made available to them.

Honda unveils next-generation safety technologies



(December 7, 2022) Honda has announced plans to expand the capabilities of its previously announced Honda Sensing 360 and Honda Sensing Elite advanced safety and driver assistive systems. The improved Honda Sensing 360 system will begin rolling out in the second half of the decade and will be standard on all new Honda and Acura models in the U.S. by 2030. The Acura version of Honda Sensing 360 will bear the AcuraWatch name.

Ford, SK On make progress on battery production facilities



(December 6, 2022) GLENDALE, Ky. — Ford and SK On have broken ground at BlueOval SK Battery Park, where their joint venture — BlueOval SK — has invested $5.8 billion to produce advanced batteries for future Ford and Lincoln electric vehicles, slated to start production in 2025, creating 5,000 new jobs in Kentucky. Construction is on schedule at the two massive battery manufacturing facilities capable of collectively producing more than 80 gigawatt hours annually.

GM opens first EV plant in Canada to build BrightDrop delivery vans



(December 6, 2022) INGERSOLL, Ont. — General Motors and BrightDrop marked the opening of Canada's first full-scale electric-vehicle manufacturing plant. With investment support from both U.S. and Canadian governments, GM has completely retooled the CAMI Assembly plant in record time to become the new global manufacturing home of BrightDrop’s fully electric delivery vans. BrightDrop also announced the commencement of commercial operations in Canada, with DHL slated to be the company’s first Canadian customer.

A Corvette crossover? It's possible, report says



(December 5, 2022) General Motors reportedly will introduce a Corvette sub-brand starting in 2025, with plans for an electric four-door coupe and crossover, according to a report in Automotive News. Car and Driver magazine, citing a source within GM, last week said the vehicles will expand Chevrolet's high-performance model into a family of vehicles.
