GM recalls more than 740,000 vehicles for defective daytime running lights



(December 14, 2022) WASHINGTON — General Motors is recalling more than 740,000 vehicles in the U.S. because the daytime running lights may not turn off when the headlights are on. The vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 108 for lamps, reflective devices and associated equipment, according to NHTSA.

Hyundai robots get rolling with pilot programs to advance last-mile delivery



(December 13, 2022) SEOUL — Hyundai Motor Group has started two pilot delivery service programs using autonomous robots based on its Plug & Drive (PnD) modular platform at a hotel and a residential-commercial complex located in the outskirts of Seoul. The delivery robot consists of a storage unit integrated on top of a PnD driving unit. Alongside the loading box used to deliver items, a connected screen displays information for customers.

Vietnam EV maker VinFast ships first vehicles to the U.S.



(December 12, 2022) Vietnamese EV maker VinFast said it has shipped its first batch of 999 cars to the United States, capping a five-year bid to develop an auto production hub in the Southeast Asian country for North American and European markets. The first cars are expected to be handed over to customers by the end of this month, the company said, according to a report by Automotive News.

Subaru recalls 271,694 Ascent models for fire risk



(December 10, 2022)  Subaru is recalling more than 287,000 Ascent large crossovers globally for a potential defect that could increase the risk of fire. The recall covers vehicles from 2019-22 model years and affects 271,694 vehicles in the U.S, according to Automotive News. Subaru is advising owners of these Ascent models to park their vehicles away from structures such as garages and avoid leaving their vehicles unattended with the engine running.
