The record-breaking feat follows on from the Nevera’s independently verified 8.582-second quarter-mile run in 2021, which made it the world’s fastest accelerating production car.

BMW opens new vehicle accessories center in South Carolina



(November 15, 2022) BMW of North America has announced the official opening of a new Vehicle Accessories Center in Greer, S.C., which will enable the company to “factory install” a range of vehicle accessories on the BMW Sports Activity Vehicles built nearby at Plant Spartanburg prior to the vehicles being delivered to dealers.  The new 60,000-square-foot facility represents an investment of nearly $25 million and creates about 60 new jobs.

McLaren Senna continues to break track records for street-legal cars



(November 14, 2022)    The McLaren Senna has set a new circuit record for street-legal production cars at the Interlagos circuit in São Paulo, Brazil, with driver Ricardo Mauricio covering the 2.677 mile track in 1:37:856. The feat was achieved during a UK Motors Academy Porto Seguros event, organized by the McLaren importer in Brazil.

Kindred Motorworks partners with Kore Power on battery modules



(November 14, 2022) SAN RAFAEL, Calif. — Kindred Motorworks, the Bay Area producer of modernized vintage vehicles, has announced that it has partnered with Idaho-based KORE Power, a leading developer of battery cell technology, to supply battery modules for the electrified models in the Kindred lineup. The first two vehicles that will benefit from this partnership are the Kindred VW Bus and the Kindred 3100 pickup truck, both of which are offered exclusively as EVs.

Hyundai accomplishes voluntary rear occupant alert commitment



(November 14, 2022) FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif. — Hyundai has exceeded its voluntary commitment to implement rear seat reminder systems in most of its product line-up. To date, all 2023 Hyundai vehicles (excluding NEXO) produced for sale in the U.S. offer Rear Occupant Alert (ROA) technology as standard. Additionally, a more advanced ultra-sonic ROA technology is offered as optional on a number of Hyundai vehicles and standard on the Santa Fe PHEV and Santa Fe HEV .
