Volkswagen's ID. Buzz electric van introduced; coming to U.S. in 2024



(March 10, 2022) HERNDON, Va. — Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles and Volkswagen Passenger Cars has officially unveiled  the all-new ID. Buzz and ID. Buzz Cargo. The two electric vehicles transfer the design of one of the greatest automobile icons — the T1 Microbus — to the era of electric mobility. The short overhangs, spacious interior and available two-tone color palette pay homage to the past, while the high-tech interior, progressive and sustainably crafted design features, and EV technology marks it clearly as a vehicle of the future.

GM and PG&E collaborate on pilot using EVs as backup power sources



(March 9, 2022) DETROIT — Pacific Gas and Electric Company and General Motors have announced a breakthrough collaboration to pilot the use of GM electric vehicles as on-demand power sources for homes in PG&E’s service area. PG&E and GM will test vehicles with cutting-edge bidirectional charging technology that can help safely power the essential needs of a properly equipped home.

Polestar releases unique soundtrack to deepen retail experience

The Polestar soundtrack is also available on over 50 different streaming services, including (but not limited to) Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music — and can be streamed in Polestar 2 cars.

Mercedes unveils all-new Sprinter AWD system with an advanced engine lineup



(March 9, 2022) INDIANAPOLIS — Mercedes-Benz Van  introduced the new all-wheel drive (AWD) system and 4-Cylinder Sprinter diesel and gas lineup that will be available for the U.S. market early next year at the 2022 Work Truck Week,  The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter is transitioning to a fully 4-cylinder lineup for gasoline and diesel engines for model year 2023, creating a more efficient portfolio.

McCormick Deering tractor Virginia yard art



The McCormick Deering steel-wheeled tractor was popular for use on the nation's farms in the '20s and '30s. Manufactured by the International Harvester Co., the McCormick Deering name was used until 1948, when this line of tractors became McCormick. This McCormick Deering tractor serves as yard art in a southern Virginia farmyard.

GM expands its EV supply chain with POSCO Chemical



(March 8, 2022) DETROIT — General Motors and POSCO Chemical have announced that they are working with the governments of Canada and Quebec to build a new facility in Bécancour, Quebec, estimated at $400 million. The new facility will produce cathode active material (CAM) for GM’s Ultium batteries, which will power electric vehicles such as the Chevrolet Silverado EV, GMC HUMMER EV and Cadillac LYRIQ.
