Mecum Monterey Daytime Auction overall sales reach $57.4 million

(August 18, 2021)  Mecum Auctions has been holding its annual Daytime Auction in Monterey during the famed Car Week since 2009, and this year’s return to the Del Monte Golf Course on the grounds of the Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel and Spa marked the company’s most successful Monterey auction to date. As a total of 519 vehicles crossed the block throughout three auction days, Aug. 12-14, 411 cars hammered sold for an exceptional sell-through rate of 80% and total overall sales of $57.4 million.

2023 Nissan Z makes world debut in New York

Stellantis recalling 212,373 Ram pickups for air bag issue



(August 17, 2021) AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — Stellantis is voluntarily recalling 212,373 U.S.-market Ram pickups to replace their side-curtain air bags. A company investigation discovered certain vehicles may be equipped with air-bag inflators that were contaminated by moisture during the supplier’s manufacturing process. Such inflators may rupture, even without air-bag deployment, possibly sending debris into the cabin.

First Acura NSX Type S sells for over $1 million at Mecum Auction



(August 17, 2021) Acura has announced that the first serial production 2022 NSX Type S was auctioned for $1.1 million during Monterey Car Week, with all proceeds going to charitable organizations. The first NSX Type S  available outside of Japan, VIN #001, was sold to winning bidder Rick Hendrick, owner of Hendrick Motorsports and chairman & CEO of Hendrick Automotive Group, at Mecum Auctions' Monterey, Calif., event, on Aug. 14.

Genesis previews design future with motorsport concepts
