80,000th Bentley Continental GT produced in Crewe

The 80,000th car — a right-hand drive Continental GT V8 in Orange Flame — was handcrafted last week, in the world’s first carbon neutral factory for luxury car production.

Volvo Innovation Portal allows outside developers to help create better cars

Volkswagen Group Components begins battery recycling pilot



(February 1, 2021) WOLFSBURG, Germany — Volkswagen Group Components has opened the group’s first plant for recycling electric car batteries in Salzgitter. With the pilot plant, the Volkswagen Group takes another committed step towards the goal of sustainable end-to-end responsibility for the entire value chain of the electric vehicle battery. The aim is the industrialized recovery of valuable raw materials such as lithium, nickel, manganese and cobalt in a closed loop together with aluminum, copper and plastics, achieving a recycling rate of more than 90% over the long term.
