Documentary offers behind-the-scenes look at mid-engine Corvette design



(December 28, 2020) DETROIT  — Chevrolet has released part one of a two-part documentary series: “Revolution: The Mid-Engine Corvette Development Story.” In the documentary, the Corvette Stingray design team shares what inspired the groundbreaking design of the mid-engine Corvette Stingray. The documentary was released on Corvette’s Facebook and Instagram pages and Chevrolet’s YouTube page. Part two will feature the perspective of Corvette’s engineers and airs Monday, Jan. 4, at 1 p.m. ET.

This new app offers an improved user experience and functionality along with new features.

Lamborghini unveils one-off 759-horsepower SC20



(December 28, 2020) Lamborghini has taken the wraps of a car called the SC20, a unique, 759 horsepower track weapon that the company says is road legal. Lamborghini’s racing arm, Squadra Corse, engineered the car, and the SC20 is the second of just two one-offs built for a customer, following the SC18 in 2018.

The first sport utility vehicle



The Jeep Wagoneer was built from 1963 through 1991, a go-anywhere 4X4 family station wagon. It became known as the first sport utility vehicle and was sold for 29 years with an almost unchanged body-structure. This early '70s model was found in retirement in Glendale, Utah. Most Wagoneers at the turn of the decade came with a Buick-derived 5.7-liter V-8 making 230 horsepower.

Mercedes-Benz launched driver's airbag, seat belt tensioner 40 years ago



(December 25, 2020) The innovation made its preview in December 1980: the driver's airbag and seat belt tensioner (originally termed the belt tightener) were in those days the latest, cutting-edge innovations in safety from Mercedes-Benz. Forty years ago, back in 1980, a limited number of S-Class Sedans (126 model series) were the first cars to be delivered with this new technology and were another milestone for passive vehicle safety in a long line of outstanding innovations from the brand.

FCA invests nearly $700,000 to re-imagine Detroit's Eastside communities



(December 24, 202) AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has announced two financial contributions integral to the automaker’s ongoing commitment to improve the quality of life for the people and neighborhoods on Detroit’s east side. FCA is contributing $400,000 to the Impact Neighborhood Fund for improvement projects in the Chandler Park, West End and Riverbend neighborhoods, while a $285,000 contribution to the Chandler Park Conservancy will enable the nonprofit organization to start construction on Detroit’s first community-based environmental education plaza.
