Dodge announces 2020 Challenger SRT Super Stock Package pricing

(August 14, 2020) AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — Dodge//SRT continues to push the boundaries of performance and is making it easier for enthusiasts to access that performance by bringing the 2020 Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock Package to market, with its 3.09 gear ratio, standard Nitto drag radials at all four corners, lightweight Brembo brakes, uniquely tuned suspension and 18-by-11-inch wheels for $3,000. All in, the new 2020 Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock has a starting U.S. manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $79,595 excluding destination.

Mazda and Toyota announce new investment in U.S. plant

Early '60s Ford Ranchero



This early second-generation Ford Ranchero pickup (1960-1965) was found living in retirement in Utah. The second-generation Ranchero was based on the newly introduced compact Falcon sedan. Ford believed the market wanted a more practical vehicle, one much smaller, lighter, and cheaper than a full-sized pickup truck, and indeed the Ranchero sold well. The standard engine was a 2.4-liter straight six with a 3-speed manual or a 3-speed Cruise-O-Matic automatic.

Jeep introduces the Gladiator Farout concept with EcoDiesel engine

(August 13, 2020), AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — The Jeep brand has introduced its new Gladiator Farout concept, a true overlanding vehicle that leverages the Jeep Gladiator’s class-leading 4x4 payload and fuel-efficient, long-range-capable 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V-6 engine. The Jeep Gladiator Farout concept was originally intended to debut at the Moab Easter Jeep Safari in April. It builds on the popularity of the Jeep Wayout concept from the 2019 Moab Easter Jeep Safari event.

Lucid Motors claims 517-mile range for its upcoming electric sedan

(August 12, 2020) NEWARK, Calif. —  Lucid Motors, which seeks to set new standards for sustainable transportation with its advanced luxury EVs, has announced independent range verification of 517 miles on a single charge for its forthcoming Lucid Air all-electric sedan. This new benchmark range was secured with FEV North America, Inc. in Auburn Hills, Mich., applying the EPA's Multicycle Test Procedure with the standard adjustment factor. The results confirm that the Lucid Air is the longest range electric vehicle to date.

Toyota adding 10.8 acres of solar arrays at three U.S. plants

(August 12, 2020) PLANO,  Texas — Toyota is adding 10.8 acres of new solar arrays across the company’s plants in Alabama, Missouri and West Virginia, reducing its reliance on outside energy needed for operations. The solar arrays will offset 6,480,000 kWh energy — the equivalent of powering nearly 800 homes per year. Toyota’s $9.3 million solar investment will generate 4.95 megawatts of energy and reduce CO2 emissions at the plants by 4,304 metric tons annually.
