Volkswagen opens new Tradepoint vehicle terminal at Port of Baltimore

(July 21, 2020) BALTIMORE, Md.  —  Volkswagen Group of America and Tradepoint Atlantic today celebrated the first day of operations at the Tradepoint Atlantic terminal at the Port of Baltimore, Volkswagen's newest port in the U.S. The port, which will serve roughly 302 dealers in the mid-Atlantic region, marks an approximately $150 million investment in the Baltimore-area and the creation of about 100 new jobs.

800-horsepower 2021 YENKO/SC Chevy Silverado now available at dealers

(July 20, 2020) TOMS RIVER, N.J. — Specialty Vehicle Engineering has announced the availability of its all-new 2021 YENKO/SC Silverado Truck, powered by a custom built 800 horsepower 378 C.I.D. supercharged LT-1-based engine. This is the most powerful limited production 2021 Full-Size GM truck available today, and only available from a CChevrolet dealer.

Only 50 of these Limited Edition YENKO/SC trucks will be built in any factory available color, and will be available in crew cab and double cab Custom models in 2WD and 4WD.

2021 Porsche 911 Turbo Coupe clocks a 2.7-second 0-to-60

(July 20, 2020) Following the recent introduction of the 2021 Porsche 911 Turbo S, the 2021 911 Turbo Coupe and Cabriolet are now making their debut. Thanks to an output of 572 hp, marking an increase of 32 hp over the predecessor, the new 911 Turbo accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 2.7 seconds (0.2 seconds faster than before) while the new 911 Turbo Cabriolet takes 2.8 seconds (also 0.2 seconds faster) The acceleration, power output and torque (553 lb.-ft.) of the new 911 Turbo are on the level of the previous 2019 911 Turbo S.

Audi bids farewell to the R8 V10 with Limited Edition model

(July 18, 2020) HERNDON, Va. — To celebrate a decade of success with the storied V10 engine, Audi of America has announced the limited edition R8 V10 quattro models in Mugello Blue, Avus Silver, and Sonoma Green. Bidding farewell to the R8 V10 quattro, these 30 units bring technologies and features previously reserved for the performance model, and add unique interior and exterior design elements. The R8 V10 performance quattro model will continue on for the 2021 model year.

Honda discontinuing subcompact Fit, Civic coupe

(July 18, 2020) Honda says it can no longer make an economic case for the Fit subcompact, Civic coupe and six-speed manual version of the Accord sedan, all of which are being discontinued after the 2020 model year. The HR-V subcompact crossover will become Honda's entry-level vehicle along with lower trims of the Civic.

The Civic hatchback has grown in popularity at the expense of the Fit and the Civic coupe, and production of the hatch will move to the U.S. from the U.K. next year.

Hyundai Kona Electric hits 100,000 global sales

(July 17, 2020) SEOUL, — Hyundai Motor Company’s globall full-electric compact SUV, has surpassed the 100,000 global sales milestone. Cumulative sales of the Kona Electric reached 103,719 units as of June 30 — just over two years since its launch in March 2018. Sales outside of its home market Korea accounted for more than three quarters of the total.
