BMW steps up expansion for electric powertrain components at plant

(February 6, 2020) DINGOLFING, Germany — The BMW Group is expanding production capacity and increasing its staff at the Competence Centre for E-Drive Production in Dingolfing faster than originally planned. Due to growing demand for electrified vehicles, the plant expects the number of modules needed for production of high-voltage batteries to double from the previous year. The number of electric motors required will also increase significantly.

Customers can customize new Escalade with 3D visualizer

Customers can now customize a 2021 Escalade using a new 3D visualizer.

The Cadillac Escalade visualizer uses a 3D model of the Escalade Premium Luxury Platinum to allow customers an immersive 360-degree view of the new Escalade from every angle, and to let them get inside and explore the Escalade’s richly-detailed interior.

It's 'Groundhog Day' all over again for Jeep and Bill Murray

(February 4, 2020) AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — In its return to the Super Bowl, the Jeep brand debuted a 60-second commercial starring Bill Murray reprising his role as Phil Connors from the 1993 film “Groundhog Day.” In the commercial, Phil Connors enlists the help of the Jeep Gladiator as his “getaway vehicle” after taking the groundhog; thus, significantly altering his days for the better.

The 60-second spot was one of the most highly rated automotive ads during the football game Sunday night in Miami.
 

First 2020 production Corvette rolls off assembly line in Bowling Green

(February 4, 2020) BOWLING GREEN, Ky. —  Regular production of the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray coupe began Feb. 3 at General Motors Bowling Green Assembly in Bowling Green, Ky. Initial vehicle shipments to dealers are expected to begin in late February or early March. Originally scheduled to start production after the first of the year, the new mid-engine Corvette was delayed because of the UAW strike that shut down General Motors from Sept. 15 - Oct. 25. It was the longest GM shutdown in 50 years.

(February 3, 2020) NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The new 2020 Nissan Titan full-size pickup, which is now being assembled at the Nissan Canton Vehicle Assembly Plant 5, is on sale now at Nissan dealers nationwide. All 2020 Titan and Titan XD models come equipped with a standard 5.6-liter Endurance V8 and 9-speed automatic transmission.

Prices start at $37,785 including a $1,595 destination charge. The top line Titan Platinum Reserve Crew Cab 4X4 is priced at $63,285 including destination charge.

Lincoln, Rivian partner to deliver Lincoln’s first all-electric vehicle

(February 2, 2020) DEARBORN, Mich. — The Lincoln Motor Company has announced that it is working together with Rivian to develop an all-new electric vehicle previously announced as part of Ford Motor Company’s original investment in Rivian.
