Cadillac to roll out enhanced Super Cruise with lane change capability

(January 29, 2020) — An enhanced version of the Super Cruise driver assistance feature will be introduced starting on the 2021 Cadillac CT5 and CT4 and followed by the all-new 2021 Cadillac Escalade. Among the enhancements will be automated lane change functionality, which will allow the hands-free system to change lanes on compatible highways when requested by the driver and certain conditions are met.

Hyundai reveals its Super Bowl commercial 'Smaht Pahk'

Hyundai has released its 60-second Super Bowl commercial, featuring the beloved Boston accent and starring Boston celebrities Chris Evans, John Krasinski, Saturday Night Live alum Rachel Dratch and Boston Red Sox legend David Ortiz. The commercial, “Smaht Pahk,” will air in a prime first-quarter time slot and showcase the Remote Smart Parking Assist feature on the all-new 2020 Sonata.

Detroit-Hamtramck first GM plant devoted to all-electric vehicles

(January 28, 2020) DETROIT — General Motors’ vision of an all-electric future is coming into clearer focus and gaining momentum with a $2.2 billion investment at its Detroit-Hamtramck assembly plant to produce a variety of all-electric trucks and SUVs. GM’s first all-electric truck will be a pickup with production scheduled to begin in late 2021.

This will be followed soon after by the Cruise Origin, a shared, electric, self-driving vehicle unveiled by Cruise in San Francisco last week. Detroit-Hamtramck will be GM’s first fully-dedicated electric vehicle assembly plant.

Porsche bares soul in upcoming commercial for the Super Bowl

(January 27, 2020) ATLANTA — For the first time since 1997, the German sports car maker will air a national TV ad during the Super Bowl on Feb. 2. The 60-second ad features a light-hearted chase between nearly a dozen iconic Porsche vehicles that share a common sports car soul — including the new fully-electric Taycan, just launched for the 2020 model year.

The spot is titled "The Heist." At its heart is a spirit of fun, mixed with a dose of racing competition. The Taycan as the newest member of the family shows off its own electrified Porsche soul.

Nissan and Uber advance zero-emission mobility in London

(January 27, 2020) LONDON — Nissan and Uber have signed a deal to support the introduction of 2,000 all-electric Nissan Leafs for drivers who use the Uber app. The fleet of 40kWh Nissan Leafs, which can travel up to 168 miles on a single charge and are manufactured in Sunderland, England, will be offered to drivers as part of Uber’s Clean Air Plan.
