Celebrity cars to be sold at Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas auction

(September 26, 2019) LAS VEGAS — Barrett-Jackson will bring some real “star power” with celebrity cars once owned by entertainment legends to its 12th Annual Las Vegas Auction at the Mandalay Bay Casino and Resort, Oct. 3-5. Among the “star cars” set to shine on the auction block are vehicles once owned by Hollywood actors Nicolas Cage and Richard Pryor, as well as legendary musicians Frank Sinatra and Liberace.

Ford reintroduces legendary King Ranch Edition to Expedition lineup

(September 26, 2019) DALLAS — Aiming to continue meeting growing demand for Ford Expedition, Ford has revealed two new models for the 2020 model year — Expedition King Ranch and an upgraded Platinum model with new materials and high-end finishes.

Large SUVs continue to appeal to customers across the U.S. Through August, U.S. sales of Expedition for 2019 were up 56 percent versus the same period last year — the best eight-month start for the nameplate in more than a decade. The addition of a new King Ranch version aims to build on that success.

This circa 1999-2005 Pontiac Grand Am GT has already been put out to pasture in eastern N.C. despite its relatively young age. The compact-sized car came with a choice of three engines — 2.2-liter 4-cylinder, 2.4-liter twin cam four, and a 175-horsepower 3.4-liter V-6. The V-6-powered GT did a 0-to-60 in 7.7 seconds according to Car and Driver.

Subaru of Indiana Automotive celebrates 6 millionth vehicle, 30 years

(September 24, 2019) LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Subaru of Indiana Automotive (SIA) has produced its 6 millionth vehicle, a 2020 Subaru Legacy. The milestone occurred less than a week after the plant’s 30th anniversary of starting production.

UL building electric vehicle battery testing laboratory in China

(September 23, 2019) NORTHBROOK, Ill. — UL, a leading global safety science organization, announced that it is establishing a large-scale electric vehicle (EV) battery laboratory to support the growing EV market.
