Ford, Volkswagen expanding alliance to include electric vehicles

Volkswagen CEO Dr. Herbert Diess, Ford president and CEO Jim Hackett as well as Argo AI CEO Bryan Salesky announced Volkswagen is joining Ford in investing in Argo AI, the autonomous vehicle technology platform company.

Electrify America to provide Harley-Davidson LiveWire owners free charging

(July 11, 2019) RESTON, Va. — Electrify America today announced an agreement with Harley-Davidson to provide owners of its first all-electric motorcycle, The Harley-Davidson LiveWire with the per minute equivalent of 500 kilowatt-hours of complimentary charging over two years at Electrify America stations nationwide.

LiveWire motorcycle customers who purchase models manufactured between August 2019 and July 2021 can enroll and manage their charging plan through the newly launched Electrify America mobile app, available for both Android and iPhone.

Toyota shifts production plans at its Alabama joint venture plant

(July 11, 2019) PLANO, Texas — Toyota is shifting future production plans at the Mazda Toyota Manufacturing U.S.A. (MTMUS) joint venture assembly plant as an opportunity to build a new, yet-to-be announced SUV replacing the planned production of the Corolla sedan.

More details related to the future SUV will be released at a later date. Corolla production will continue at Toyota’s Blue Springs, Miss., plant.
