Fifth annual Cars at the Capital exhibition features 1960’s automobile culture

(August 1, 2019) WASHINGTON, D.C. — An out of this world experience from Sept.12 – 26 will feature two historically significant vehicles: Sept.12 –19  — Apollo 12 Astronaut Alan Bean’s 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray; Sept.20 – 26  1966 —  Volkswagen Deluxe Station Wagon owned by Esau and Janie B. Jenkins. Each will be a part of the Historic Vehicle Association (HVA) Cars at the Capital exhibition on the National Mall in Washington D.C.

A used-up Lincoln Mark VII



This second-generation Lincoln Mark VII (1986-1992) was found languishing in an automobile burial ground in eastern North Carolina. When it hit the market in 1984 it was called the Continental Mark VII, but the Continental name was dropped with a redesign in 1986. More than 190,000 units of the Mark VII were built before production ended on April 22, 1992.

2020 Porsche 911 Carrera to start at $98,750

(July 31, 2019) ATLANTA — Porsche is expanding the model range of the new 911. Following the introduction of the 911 Carrera S and 4S models, the new standard 911 Carrera and 911 Carrera Cabriolet complement the line-up.

Like the 2020 911 Carrera S and 4S models, the new 911 Carrera and 911 Carrera Cabriolet are powered by a twin-turbo 3.0-liter flat six engine. In the 911 Carrera models, it is fitted with model-specific turbochargers, developing 379 hp at 6,500 rpm (nine horsepower more than the previous 911 Carrera models) and 331 lb.-ft. of torque from 1,950 to 5,000 rpm.

Subaru sells two-millionth Forester in U.S.

(July 31, 2019) Subaru of America has announced the two-millionth sale of its iconic Forester SUV in the U.S. The company’s consistent annual sales growth helped Forester achieve the milestone in under a third of the time that it took to reach the one-millionth sale set in June 2013.

Subaru of Indiana begins production of all-new Outback and Legacy

(July 31, 2019) Subaru of Indiana Automotive (SIA) began official production of the all-new, 2020 Legacy sedan and the all-new 2020 Outback SUV on Tuesday. Each model was driven off the assembly line during a ceremony for employees.

“We’ve been preparing for this day for more than two years,” said Scott Brand, senior vice president at SIA. “Thanks to the hard work and dedication of our associates, we are launching the newest generation of these two iconic models with the highest quality our customers expect.”
