Hyundai, WayRay unveil Holographic Augmented Reality nav system

(January 10, 2019) LAS VEGAS — Hyundai Motor Group, in collaboration with Swiss deep-tech startup company WayRay AG, has unveiled the world’s first Holographic Augmented Reality (AR) Navigation System equipped in the Genesis G80 at CES 2019.

Hyundai CRADLE, the hub for Hyundai’s open innovation business, decided to strategically invest in WayRay last September in recognition of its leadership in holographic AR technology and its future growth potential.

For the second time in as many years, Chevrolet came up with a totally new car in 1959. From the front and rear the 1959 Chevrolet resembled nothing else on the road. The headlights were placed as low as the law would permit and the most visual new change was the flat, wing shaped tailfins. This 1959 was found in a field in Blanco, Texas.

GM to collaborate with EV networks EVgo, ChargePoint and Greenlots

(January 10, 2019) DETROIT — General Motors will collaborate with EVgo, ChargePoint and Greenlots, three of the nation’s leading electric vehicle (EV) charging networks, to enable access to the largest collective electric vehicle charging network in the United States, including more than 31,000 charging ports. GM plans to aggregate dynamic data from each of the EV charging networks so owners of the all-electric Chevrolet Bolt EV can have a more seamless charging experience with their GM vehicles.

New Nissan Leaf powertrain option offers expanded range and power

(January 10, 2019) LAS VEGAS — Nissan has unveiled the Nissan Leaf e+, further broadening the appeal of the world's best-selling electric car by offering a new powertrain with additional power and range. The "e+" refers to the increased energy density of the model's 62 kWh battery pack and the higher output of its powertrain.

The new powertrain adds to the car's range by approximately 40 percent, with EPA-estimated range of up to 226 miles, ensuring that there's a Nissan Leaf to meet the driving needs of a wider range of customers.

Toyota, Kenworth collaborate to develop zero emission trucks

(January 9, 2019) LAS VEGAS — Kenworth Truck Company and Toyota North America are collaborating to develop 10 zero-emission Kenworth T680s powered by Toyota hydrogen fuel cell electric powertrains. This collaboration is part of a $41 million Zero and Near-Zero Emissions Freight Facilities (ZANZEFF) grant preliminarily awarded by the California Air Resources Board (CARB), with the Port of Los Angeles as the prime applicant.

2020 Porsche 911 Carrera S and 4S Cabriolet debut

(January 9, 2019) ATLANTA — Just weeks after the premiere of the eighth generation of Porsche 911 in Los Angeles, the latest generation of 911 Carrera S and 4S Cabriolet models are celebrating their debut. Featuring a solid glass rear window and integrated magnesium support elements, their automatic fabric top opens or closes in approximately 12 seconds at speeds of up to 31 miles per hour.

Like the recently introduced Coupe models, both the 911 Carrera S and 4S Cabriolet now feature the wider body adopted from the previous generation 911 Carrera 4 and GTS models.

New Mercedes-Benz EQC electric crossover has U.S. premiere

Chevrolet launches advertising campaign for new Silverado

(January 8, 2019) DETROIT — Chevrolet debuted its most comprehensive integrated marketing and social campaign to support the launch of the all-new Silverado during the NCAA championship football game Monday night. The campaign elements will reach a wide array of consumers through traditional and digital media, unique integrations and creative content that features real truck owners.

The blitz began during the College Football Playoff National Championship with the debut of the new 60-second TV commercial “A Little Bit Country, A Little Bit Rock n’ Roll.”
