Racing-inspired brand campaign heralds Honda performance models

(May 17, 2017) ORANGE, Calif. — "Racing at Heart," a new brand campaign linking Honda's diverse, high-performance motorsports program to production vehicles including the new Civic Type R, arriving in dealerships late spring, made its television debut Tuesday.  The new spot, also titled "Racing at Heart," highlights Honda racing programs including the Verizon IndyCar Series, Red Bull Global Rallycross and desert truck racing — demonstrating how the brand's deep roots in competition inspire the engineering of the Honda vehicles available to its customers.

Toyota USA Foundation awards education grants totaling $2.35 million

(May 17, 2017) PLANO, Texas — Continuing its commitment to preparing teachers and students for the next-generation of jobs, Toyota USA Foundation awarded two grants totaling $2.35 million to Project Lead The Way (PLTW) and the National Alliance for Partnerships in Equity (NAPE).
 
The grants, announced at the annual North American Advanced Manufacturing Career Pathways Conference, aim to increase access to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)  programs throughout the United States and boost participation and retention of women and people of color in STEM careers.

Audi shows integrated Android operating system

Mini enhancing its lineup with range of design and infotainment upgrades

(May 17, 2017) The Mini brand is further enhancing the appeal of its model line-up this summer with a range of new design, functionality and infotainment improvements. Starting in July, all new Mini models will feature an enhanced cockpit instrument with a new night design and a fuel level display that offers greater precision.

Operation of MiniDriving Modes and MiniHead-Up Display will also be revised. In a brand first, MiniClubman and MiniCountryman will offer Apple CarPlay and an alertness assistant will be introduced on Mini3-door Hatch, Mini5-door Hatch and MiniConvertible models.

Mecum Auctions Gone Farmin' to offer Allis-Chalmers collection

(May 17, 2017) WALWORTH, Wis.  — One of the world’s most comprehensive vintage Allis-Chalmers tractor collections — the George Nesbitt Collection — will be offered at auction July 14-15 in Renfrew, Ontario, Canada.

More than 300 tractors and 100 parts and tires will be sold at Gone Farmin’s first international auction. This sweeping collection includes nearly every model Allis-Chalmers has ever produced from the early teens up through the 1980s.

Uncovering a 1937 DeSoto



DeSoto was a mid-level brand built by Chrysler from 1928 through 1961 with over 2 million built in its 56 years of existence. In 1934 DeSoto was given the dramatic Chrysler airflow design, a big mistake because sales tanked in 1934-35. In 1936 the DeSoto was returned to a more mainstream design called Airstream. This 1937 DeSoto specimen was discovered by Peter Hubbard near Denton, Texas.

Volvo partners with Google to build Android into connected cars

Magna shines a light on blind spots with its ClearView vision systems
