U.S. Big Three see September sales slip compared to 2015

(October 3, 2016) Ford, General Motors and Fiat Chrysler posted U.S. sales declines last month. FCA reported U.S. sales of 192,883 units, a 1 percent decrease compared with sales in September 2015. Ford Transit vans U.S. sales grew 6 percent last month with 10,799 vans sold, but overall Ford U.S. September sales totaled 204,447 vehicles, an 8 percent decline versus a year ago. GM’s total sales in September were down slightly year over year to 249,795 vehicles.    
 

New Ram Lone Star Edition unveiled at State Fair of Texas

Buick's new Avenir sub-brand to represent highest expression of luxury

(October 2, 2016) DETROIT — Buick is creating a new Avenir sub-brand to add top-line luxury vehicles inspired by Buick’s evolving customer base. The brand has grown quickly with female buyers, and Buick says, one in two Buick customers today are coming from competitive brands. They’re expecting a high-end experience and premium quality. For example, 90 percent of Enclave buyers purchase one of the top two trim levels.

Audi opens assembly plant in Mexico; to build new Q5 crossover

(October 1, 2016) Audi is further expanding its worldwide production network and thus continuing along its path of global growth. On Friday, the Audi board of management opened the company’s first automobile plant on the North American continent. Audi will produce the new generation of the Audi Q5 for the world market in San José Chiapa in Mexico’s federal state of Puebla.

The plant has an annual production capacity of approximately 150,000 premium SUVs. By the end of the year, 4,200 jobs will be created locally at Audi México.

Radical new Honda Civic Type R prototype debuts in Paris
