Volvo, Autoliv to create joint venture for autonomous driving

(September 10, 2016) Volvo Cars and Autoliv have signed a letter of intent to set up a new jointly owned company to develop next-generation autonomous driving software as automotive firms across the industry race to embrace the emerging technology.

The planned new company will have its headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden, and an initial workforce taken from both companies of around 200, increasing to over 600 in the medium term. The company is expected to start operations in the beginning of 2017.

World's first 'flat-pack' truck revealed; to bring aid to remote Africa

Kia opens new production facility in Mexico

(September 9, 2016) SEOUL — Kia Motors officially opened its new production facility in Mexico this week at a grand opening. Construction of Kia's new manufacturing plant, located in Pesquería in the northern Mexican state of Nuevo Léon, began in October 2014. The facility — Kia's sixth overseas production base — represents an investment by Kia and suppliers of $3 billion.
