Cadillac's global sales rise 16.9 percent in October

(November 6, 2015) With substantial gains in its top four markets, Cadillac global sales increased 16.9 percent in October to 23,250 units.  U.S. sales rose 13 percent, and the brand’s sales grew in China (23.4 percent) Canada (46.5 percent) and the Middle East (15.3 percent).

“Cadillac’s increasing product substance and disciplined brand and marketplace strategies are building momentum,” said Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen.

Chevrolet donates 2016 Volt to FIRST

(November 6, 2015) DETROIT — Chevrolet will donate an all-new 2016 Volt to FIRST, the K-12 robotics program, to help raise money for student robotics opportunities across the U.S. but particularly for those in communities underrepresented in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education fields.

The donation is a natural fit because the Volt exemplifies advances in science and technology, and the funds raised by the auction will help bolster FIRST teams to a diverse body of students, said Chevrolet Marketing Director Steve Majoros.

This post-war circa 1946 Dodge Power Wagon was used — as indicated by its markings — as a utility truck for a volunteer fire department. It was discovered along the side of the road in western North Carolina. Derived from the Dodge military trucks used in World War II, it was the first civilian 4X4.
