Kia launches brand in Mexico with three vehicles initially for sale

(June 10, 2015) MEXICO CITY — Kia Motors officially launched the Kia brand in Mexico Tuesday at a ceremony held in Mexico City. Around 250 government officials, industry leaders and media were in attendance to witness the ushering in of a new entrant to the local automotive market and a new era of global expansion for the South Korean automaker.

Final details on Kia's entry to the Mexican market were confirmed at the event. The world's ninth largest automaker will commence retail sales at 21 dealerships in 10 major cities across the country on July 1.

Hyundai releases design sketches of new subcompact Creta crossover

(June 10, 2015) Ahead of its global debut in India in July, Hyundai has released the official design renderings of the Creta subcompact SUV. The car is based on Hyundai's "Fluidic Sculpture 2.0" design philosophy.

"Creta design follows a premium look, based on Hyundai Motor's evolved design philosophy. Harmony between a bold front, voluminous side, sporty rear and other details complete the premium SUV's design," the company said in a statement.

Mecum's Seattle auction achieves $9.5 million in sales

(June 10, 2015) The Mecum Seattle 2015 auction held at the CenturyLink Field Event Center this past weekend achieved $9,517,676 in total sales with all five cars in the John Wickey Collection selling for $630,000 overall.

The auction’s top seller was a 1970 Dodge Hemi Challenger R/T SE that brought a high bid of $185,000 (pictured below). A true R-Code Challenger with matching-numbers four-speed transmission, the car had undergone a comprehensive restoration in 2014 and presented beautifully in Plum Crazy paint retaining most of its original sheet metal and the original fender tag.
