Ford's March retail sales best in nine years; overall sales off 3 percent

(April 1, 2015) DEARBORN, Mich. — Ford posted its best U.S. retail sales in nine years in March, driven by strong demand for its new products, including F-Series, Mustang and Transit, but fleet sales were down 13 percent accounting for a 3 percent drop in overall sales year-over-year.

Ford continues prioritizing retail sales to meet strong consumer demand, resulting in lower fleet and overall sales for the month. Ford’s March retail sales were up 1 percent, fleet sales were down 13 percent, and overall sales were 235,929 vehicles, down 3 percent.

Fiat Chrysler records 60th straight month of year-over-year sales gains

(April 1, 2015) AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — FCA US today reported U.S. sales of 197,261 units, a 2 percent increase compared with sales in March 2014, and the group’s best March sales since 2007.

The Chrysler, Jeep and Ram Truck brands each posted year-over-year sales gains in March compared with the same month a year ago. The Jeep brand’s 23 percent increase was the largest sales gain of any FCA US brand during the month and its best monthly sales ever. The group extended its streak of year-over-year sales gains to 60-consecutive months.
 

All-new Chevy Malibu is larger, more technological and efficient

(April 1, 2015) DETROIT — Chevrolet today introduced the all-new 2016 Malibu – a completely restyled midsize sedan engineered to offer more efficiency, connectivity and advanced safety features than ever.

An all-new hybrid powertrain, which leverages technology from the Chevrolet Volt, will offer an estimated combined fuel economy rating exceeding 45 mpg. The Malibu’s standard 1.5L turbo powertrain is projected to offer 37 mpg highway.

Scion introduces its first small sedan, the iA

In addition to adding a new vehicle to its stable, it’s also adding its first-ever sedan, the remarkably sporty, yet very affordable, 2016 Scion iA. The Scion iA sedan joins the all-new 2016 Scion iM hatchback for a one-two punch in the subcompact and compact segments.

The new sans-hatch Scion will arrive in dealerships this fall for an estimated MSRP in the $16,000-range.

Second-generation Jaguar XF unveiled in New York

(April 1, 2015) NEW YORK — The all-new second generation 2016 Jaguar XF large luxury sedan featuring Jaguar aluminum-intensive construction will bring a unique blend of design, technology, and refinement to the segment.

With the launch of the 2016 XF sedan in Winter 2015, all current Jaguar models will now feature lightweight aluminum construction, as will future models such as the Jaguar XE sports sedan and Jaguar F-PACE performance crossover.
