Honda testing automated vehicle technology at Bay Area Navy base

(March 31, 2015) CONCORD, Calif. — Honda today announced that it has commenced testing of its automated and connected vehicle technology at the Concord Naval Weapons Station (CNWS) in the San Francisco Bay Area. Under the terms of an agreement reached with the Contra Costa Transportation Authority (CCTA) in conjunction with the City of Concord, Honda will use the newly branded "GoMentum Station" test-bed site at the CNWS to advance its technologies.

Volvo announces plans to build $500 million facility in U.S.

(March 30, 2015) Volvo Cars announced today that it will build a new manufacturing facility in the U.S., fulfilling its ambition to be a truly global car maker, investing around $500 million in a new plant and underscoring its long term commitment to the U.S. market.

The company has drawn up a short list of potential locations. Full details regarding the location of the new factory and the size of the investment will be announced at a later date.

Lexus to introduce next-generation RX crossover in New York

2015 marks 80 years of Chevrolet Suburban, the original SUV

(March 29, 2015) DALLAS — In 1935, the Hoover Dam was completed, Elvis Presley was born, and canned beer first graced backyard barbecues across America. It was also the year the Chevrolet Suburban was introduced.

No other vehicle has been in continuous production as long as the Suburban. A black 2015 Suburban was the 10 millionth vehicle built at GM’s Arlington Assembly Center, which has been the home of the Suburban and other General Motors’ full-size SUVs since 1997.
