Ram ups the ante on full-size truck mileage — 29 mpg

(January 13, 2015) AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — The Ram Truck brand today announced that it will add a new, more fuel-efficient model to its half-ton truck lineup and further extend its claim on the industry’s highest fuel efficiency rating.
 
The 2015 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel HFE will deliver the highest fuel economy among all full-size truck competitors — 12 percent higher than the next-closest competitor. Its “HFE” designation is Ram’s way of highlighting this model’s excellent fuel efficiency.

2016 Plug-In Hyundai Sonata expected to get 22 miles on a charge

(January 13, 2015) DETROIT — Hyundai launched its first plug–in hybrid vehicle Monday at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The 2016 Hyundai Sonata Plug–in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) is expected to travel up to 22 miles on electric power and can recharge in as little as two and a half hours with a Level 2 charger.

The Sonata Plug–in Hybrid will be built at the Asan, South Korea, plant and will go on sale in select markets later this year.

Chevrolet Bolt EV concept has 200-mile range starting at $30,000

Ford unveils all-new GT ultra-high performance supercar

(January 12, 2015) DETROIT — Ford today unveiled the all-new GT, an ultra-high-performance supercar that serves as a technology showcase for top EcoBoost performance, aerodynamics and lightweight carbon fiber construction. The GT is one of more than 12 new Ford Performance vehicles coming by 2020. It joins Focus RS, F-150 Raptor, Shelby GT350 and Shelby GT350R in the growing Ford Performance lineup.

Beginning production late next year, the GT hits the road in select global markets to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Ford GT race cars placing 1-2-3 at the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Chevrolet introduces all-new 2016 Volt with extended range

(January 12, 2015) DETROIT — Chevrolet today unveiled the all-new 2016 Volt electric car with extended range, showcasing a sleeker, sportier design that offers 50 miles of EV range, greater efficiency and stronger acceleration.

The Volt’s new, efficient propulsion system will offer a General Motors’-estimated total driving range of more than 400 miles and with regular charging, owners are expected to travel more than 1,000 miles on average between gas fill-ups.
