Mecum to hold largest motorcycle auction in its 24-year history

(January 3, 2015) Mecum Auctions will present MidAmerica’s 24th annual Las Vegas Motorcycle Auction Jan. 8-10 at South Point Casino and Exhibit Hall in Las Vegas. As the most anticipated antique motorcycle auction of the year, the three-day event is open to all and draws participants from all 50 states and around the world. This year will see a record 750 antique and collector motorcycles cross the auction block spanning a full century of production from 1903 to 2003.

Hyundai Blue Link to debut smartwatch app with voice recognition

(January 2, 2015) FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif. — Smatwatch sales are skyrocketing and starting early in 2015 Hyundai owners will be able to connect with their cars using these wearable devices and the Hyundai Blue Link smartwatch app. Hyundai will debut and demonstrate the Blue Link smartwatch app at Pepcom's Digital Experience and at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.

30th anniversary of electrically powered tricycle celebrated at museum

(January 2, 2015) BEAULIEU, HAMPSHIRE, ENGLAND — The 30th birthday of the Sinclair C5, one of the most unusual vehicles ever to be built in Britain, is being celebrated by the National Motor Museum. First on display in the museum following its launch on Jan. 10, 1985, visitors can again see this electrically-powered tricycle, which was gifted to the museum by its manufacturer.

Despite failing to catch the public’s imagination at its launch, today the C5 is regarded as an icon of 1980’s design and a pioneer of alternative-fueled transport, as well as an endearing British failure.
