Subaru has September sales record heading toward another record year

(October 3, 2014) CHERRY HILL, N.J. — Subaru of America has reported a 31 percent sales increase for September, resulting in a September sales record. The company sold 41,517 units in September versus 31,755 units sold in September 2013.

Year-to-date sales increased 20 percent with 375,485 units sold versus 313,407 units sold over the same period last year. The company has now seen 34 consecutive months of year-over-year growth and is well on its way to its sixth successive annual sales record.

Jaguar Land Rover takes over Paris show with two global debuts

Hyundai showcases downsized turbocharged engines, 7-speed transmission

(October 3, 2014) Hyundai is showcasing two new turbocharged gas direct injected (T-GDI) engines at the Paris Motor Show.  Both engines — 1.0-liter and 1.4-liter units which are part of a new generation of engines from the Kappa family — meet growing demand for small capacity, turbocharged engines to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emission without compromising on driving pleasure.

In addition, Hyundai is premiering its first seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, fitted into the i30 CNG concept car, which contributes to improved fuel efficiency.

GM recalling 117,651 vehicles over chassis control module defect

(October 3, 2014) DETROIT — General Motors will recall 117,651 vehicles in North America to fix a chassis control module defect that could encounter an electrical short that might cause engines to stall.

While the company said the problem can occur in only about 1 percent of the recalled units, it issued a stop-delivery notice to dealers covering 2013 and 2014 models of Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban; Cadillac CTS, Escalade and Escalade SUV; GMC Yukon; and only the 2014 models of the Chevrolet Traverse, Express van and Silverado HD; GMC Acadia, Savana van and Sierra HD.

Cadillac achieves best total September sales since 2007

(October 3, 2014) DETROIT — Cadillac achieved its best September U.S. sales since 2007, led by the next generation 2015 Escalade SUV and 2014 SRX crossover.

“Sales growth is important, and at the same time we are improving the quality of our business overall,” said Jim Bunnell, U.S. vice president of Cadillac sales. “The desirability of our new products is elevating our brand and attracting new buyers.”

Chrysler Canada reports best calendar-year-to-date sales ever

(October 3, 2014) WINDSOR, Ontario — Chrysler Canada has announced its 58th consecutive month of year-over-year sales growth, signifying the longest sales streak in the Company’s history. September 2014 were 23,742, compared with 19,858 sold in September 2013, an increase of 20 per cent. The September figure contributes to the best calendar-year-to-date sales through nine months in the Company’s history.

1965 Ford Ranchero has seen better days



Ford built the Ranchero from 1957 through 1979, a vehicle with a cargo bed integrated into a car body combining the looks of a sedan and the utility of a light duty pickup. This 1965 model was based on the compact Ford Falcon. The 1957 through 1959 models were based on the full-sized Ford platform before Ford moved the Ranchero to the smaller Falcon platform in 1960.
