Ford adds 1,200 jobs in Kansas City to ramp up Transit production

(September 25, 2014) DEARBORN, Mich. — Ford has announced it is adding 1,200 jobs and a second shift at Kansas City Assembly Plant to build the all-new Ford Transit.

“The job growth we have created in U.S. manufacturing is a testament to our strong partnership with the UAW, the union’s competitiveness, and the growing demand for Ford’s portfolio of cars, utilities and trucks,” said Joe Hinrichs, Ford president, The Americas.

Upcoming top-end Cadillac to be named the CT6

(September 25, 2014) DETROIT – Cadillac announced today that its new, high-technology car positioned at the top of its range will be called Cadillac CT6.

“The Cadillac CT6 continues our brand’s elevation and global growth,” said Uwe Ellinghaus, Cadillac chief marketing officer. “CT6 will constitute an entirely new approach to the prestige sedan, emphasizing a dynamic driving experience and advanced technology.”

The pinnacle of the new C-Class line-up is driven by an all new 4.0-liter V8 turbocharged engine closely related to the power unit that provides breathtaking propulsion in the new Mercedes-AMG GT. The power spectrum ranges from 469 horsepower in the C63 to 503 horsepower in the C63 S.

Volkswagen Beetle Classic goes on sale from $20,195

(September 24, 2014) HERNDON, Va. — Volkswagen has announced that the limited-edition Beetle Classic model will go on sale this week, starting at $20,195 for the 1.8T Coupe. This new model enhances the value story for the Beetle, adding a host of new features in addition to the Beetle’s already extensive list of standard equipment.

Currently, this is the lowest priced model in the Beetle lineup, starting nearly $1500 lower than the Beetle 1.8T automatic.

GM continues to expand Cadillac brand; getting new headquarters in N.Y.
