This year’s edition was renamed the Mopar “Top Eliminator HEMI Heritage” contest to encompass the brand’s celebration of the 50th anniversary of the iconic 426 Race HEMI engine.

Vaughn Gittin introduces Mustang to France — and buys some baguettes

Ford recalls 850,000 vehicles for airbag, seat belt problem

(September 26, 2014) Ford is recalling 850,050 model year 2013 and 2014 vehicles for an electrical flaw that could cause airbags and seat belt pretensioners to malfunction in the event of a crash. The affected vehicles include the 2013-14 Ford C-Max, Fusion, Escape and Lincoln MKZ.

Ford said in a statement today the restraints-control module in the vehicles could short circuit, causing the airbag warning indicator to illuminate. This is the 12th recall of the 2013 Escape.

Volvo introduces engine upgrade in V40 Cross Country

(September 26, 2014) The successful Drive-E powertrain with a 245 horsepower gas turbo T5 engine that was made available earlier this year for the V40 is now being introduced for the V40 Cross Country — with the added capability of AWD. The current iteration of the V40 and V40 Cross Country have been sold in Europe since 2013.

Warren Assembly to build 28,585 more Ram trucks a year

(September 26, 2014) WARREN, Mich. — With sales of the Ram 1500 on a 52-month sales streak, Chrysler Group’s Warren (Mich.) Truck Assembly Plant is increasing production. The plant that built back-to-back Motor Trend Truck of the Year winners in 2013 and 2014 will be building an average of an additional 100 vehicles a day or 28,585 more trucks a year to keep up with demand.
