Daimler: Net profit almost doubles in first quarter of 2014

(April 30, 2014) STUTTGART, Germany — Daimler AG reported today that it started 2014 with significant growth in unit sales, revenue and earnings. Worldwide, the Group sold 565,800 cars and commercial vehicles in the first quarter — more than ever before — increasing its unit sales by 13% compared with the prior-year period.

Despite unfavorable exchange rate developments, revenue increased by 13% to €29.5 billion ($40.7 billion). Net profit reached €1,086 million ($1.49 billion), nearly double compared with the prior-year period.

Chevrolet announces 2015 City Express pricing

(April 29, 2014) DETROIT — The 2015 Chevrolet City Express LS — the brand’s first entry in the small cargo van segment — will have a starting price of $22,950, including a $995 destination charge.

The City Express features a standard 2.0L dual-overhead cam inline-four-cylinder engine with continuously variable valve timing rated at 131 horsepower and 139 lb-ft of torque. It has 122.7 cubic feet of customizable cargo space, a tight turning diameter of 36.7 feet and an estimated payload capacity of 1,500 pounds.

With the end of 35mm film distribution, and the costly switch to digital projection, Honda created Project Drive-In as a national effort to save as many of America's remaining drive-ins as possible.

Through Project Drive-In, awareness was raised across the country and it offered communities simple ways to get involved and help preserve this historic part of American cinema and car culture.
