Toyota enters $1.2 billion agreement with government related to recalls

(March 23, 2014) NEW YORK — Toyota has reached an agreement with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York to resolve its investigation initiated in February 2010 into the communications and decision-making processes related to the company’s 2009-2010 recalls to address potential “sticking” accelerator pedals and floor mat entrapment. 

As part of the agreement, Toyota will make a payment totaling $1.2 billion.

Honda builds 20 millionth automobile in the U.S.

(March 20, 2014) MARYSVILLE, Ohio — The 10 millionth U.S.-built Honda Accord rolled off the assembly line today at Honda's first U.S. auto plant in Marysville, Ohio, as all four Honda auto plants in America celebrated the cumulative production of 20 million automobiles in the U.S.  Honda also marked the achievement at two engine and two transmission plants that build the powertrains used in Honda's U.S.-built cars and trucks.

Toyota racing history to be displayed at Goodwood Festival of Speed

Bentley's operating profit, sales increase in 2013

(March 20, 2014) CREWE, England — Bentley Motors today posted a significant growth in profit and turnover, its strongest ever performance, as the company outlined its financial results for the year Dec. 31, 2013.

Operating profit improved to a record £139.7 million ($230 million), up 66.9% on the 2012 figure of £83.7 million ($138 million). Turnover grew by 15.5% to £1.40 billion ($2.3 billion), the highest in Bentley’s history. Profit margin increased from 7% to 10%.
