January vehicle sales suffer due to extreme winter weather

(February 3, 2014) General Motors, Ford and Toyota cited unusually bad winter weather for a drop in January sales compared to sales from a year ago. Sales dropped 12 percent at General Motors, 8 percent at Ford and 7 percent at Toyota compared to January 2013. Honda also cited weather for its 2.1 percent decrease.

Nissan Group sales up 11.8 percent from January 2013

(February 3, 2014) NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Nissan Group announced today total U.S. sales for January 2014 of 90,470 units, an increase of 11.8 percent compared to last year. Nissan Division set a January record with 81,472 deliveries, an increase of 10.4 percent over the prior year. The Division has posted a monthly record in 10 of the last 11 months.
   

Chrysler reports best January sales since 2008

Ford blames weather for sluggish sales; Lincoln has best January in four years

Maserati's Super Bowl ad garners highest consumer interest

(February 3, 2014) IRVINE, Calif. — Maserati Ghibli increased 4,250 percent in new-car searches on KBB.com, the most of any advertised model during Super Bowl XLVIII, according to Kelley Blue Book. Other luxury models Jaguar F-Type, Hyundai Genesis and Audi A3 increased 1,733 percent, 838 percent and 813 percent in search activity on the site after the ads aired, respectively.
