More than 200,000 flood damaged cars back on U.S. roads

According to new research from Carfax, more than 212,000 cars that were branded as flood damage by a state Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) are on U.S. roads right now.

Porsche reports best July sales ever

(August 2, 2013) ATLANTA — Porsche Cars North America has announced July 2013 sales of 3,820 vehicles, an increase of 36 percent over July 2012. For the year, Porsche has sold 25,129 cars in the U.S., a 31 percent increase over last year's sales of 19,253.

Toyota reports $5.5 billion quarterly profit

(August 2, 2013) Toyota reported today that it increased its quarterly profit by 94 percent to 562.2 billion yen ($5.5 billion), helped by a weaker yen and strong sales in the United States. Announcing its April-June results, Toyota also raised its profit forecast by 8 percent for the year ending March 2014.

Auto industry experiences best July sales in seven years

(August 2, 2013) Strong retail sales of cars and trucks lifted the U.S. auto industry to its best July in seven years. Analysts believe the momentum could propel the industry to nearly 16 million sales by year’s end, which would be the best year since 2007.

Civic leads Honda breaking 13-year July sales record

(August 1, 2013) TORRANCE, Calif. — The Honda Civic broke a 13-year July sales record leading America Honda to U.S. sales of 141,439, a 20.9 percent increase compared to July 2012. Both the Civic and Accord posted sales exceeding 30,000.

Honda said it sold 32,416 copies of the compact Civic last month, the most of any Honda nameplate. The mid-sized Accord was right behind with 31,507 sales.

GM’s retail sales increase 23 percent in July

(August 1, 2013) DETROIT — General Motors dealers delivered 234,071 vehicles in the United States in July, up 16 percent compared with a year ago. Retail sales increased 23 percent while fleet sales declined 6 percent.
