Ford delivers best hybrid sales quarter ever

(July 24, 2013) DEARBORN, Mich. — Ford set a record for hybrid sales in the second quarter of 2013, with sales of 24,217 vehicles — up 517 percent over last year and up 15 percent over the first quarter of 2013 — as demand grows in markets across the United States and as more Toyota and Honda customers trade in their vehicles for a Ford.

Help wanted: Ford salaried hiring initiative to reach 3,000 new jobs

(July 24, 2013) DEARBORN, Mich. — Ford Motor Company will hire an additional 800 salaried employees for a total of more than 3,000 salaried employees in 2013. The new hiring represents a 36 percent increase over the original projection of 2,200 additional salaried jobs announced in January. With only a 2.7 percent attrition rate, the majority of these jobs are new.

The Wireless Foundation honors OnStar subscriber

Detroit band uses 2014 Impala as recording studio

Bentley sport utility gets a green light

(July 23, 2013) CREWE, England — Bentley Motors today confirmed that it will proceed with the development of the Bentley SUV, the company’s fourth model line. The SUV will be made in Crewe and will go on sale in 2016. It will create over 1,000 jobs in the UK. Over the next three years Bentley will invest more than £800 million in its headquarters at Crewe and the development of new models.
