Rear-end collisions account for a significant proportion of road accidents. In order to address this problem, Volvo Trucks has developed its advanced emergency braking system, which also includes early collision warning.

This app measures how much energy your Chevy Volt is using

(October 6, 2012) AUSTIN, Texas — OnStar is testing an app capable of telling Chevrolet Volt owners how much it costs to charge their battery – and compare the Volt’s energy use with the total energy consumed in their home by day, month or year.

The new app, called EcoHub, will initially be tested with and
available to residents of the Pecan Street demonstration project, a smart grid living community in Austin.

Four vehicles earn Top Safety Pick designations

(October 5, 2012) The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has announced that four 2013 model year vehicles have earned the IIHS Top Safety Pick award. Gaining the top safety designation are the Lexus ES, a midsize luxury car; the Hyundai Santa Fe, a midsize SUV; and the Subaru XV Crosstrek and Dodge Dart, both small cars.

1968 Jaguar E-Type to be stretched during restoration

Ford targets Toyota Prius in new C-Max ads

New Subaru XV Crosstrek earns highest IIHS crash rating

Dodge Dart gets new Aero package, 41 mpg

Powered by the sporty, fun-to-drive and advanced 1.4-liter MultiAir intercooled turbocharged engine combined with several aerodynamic enhancements, including lightweight aluminum chassis components, active grille shutters, underbody aero kit, a lowered profile and low-rolling resistance tires, the Aero model achieves an impressive 41 miles per gallon (mpg) on the highway with the six-speed manual and 40 mpg on the highway with the six-speed Dual Dry Clutch Transmission (DDCT).

Kia, DC Entertainment to create Justice League-inspired vehicles
