Toyota giving 100 cars to 100 nonprofits in 100 days

(March 12, 2012) TORRANCE, Calif. —  Do you know a nonprofit that could make great things happen with a new car? Applications opened today for Toyota’s 100 Cars for Good, a major national philanthropy program in which the automaker is giving away 100 cars to 100 nonprofits over the course of 100 days. Winners will be selected each day through public voting on Facebook.

(March 12, 2012) Sometimes what I do to keep a roof over my head is pretty cool. A week or so ago, I got to hang out with the creative forces behind the new Camaro ZL1.

I won't bore you with all the details, but the ZL1 the track-ready version of the Camaro with 580 horsepower and 556 lb-ft of torque. It slingshots to 60 mph from a standing stop in less than four seconds. Yeow-zir!!!

Hyundai releases images of 2013 Santa Fe crossover

2013 Toyota Venza crossover to be shown in New York

Volvo truck plant first to gain two top energy certifications

(March 10, 2011) Volvo Trucks’ New River Valley, Va., assembly plant is the first U.S. manufacturing facility to achieve two top energy certifications.

New River Valley is the largest Volvo Trucks manufacturing plant in the world, and has been certified by the ISO 50001 standard and the Superior Energy Performance (SEP). ISO 50001 and SEP are, respectively, the top international standard and top U.S. certification program for driving continuous improvements in energy efficiency.

Chevrolet plans purpose-built Camaro drag racer

(March 10, 2012) DETROIT – Chevrolet will build 69 COPO Camaros for 2012, the brand’s first purpose-built Camaro drag-racing specialty car designed to compete with the quickest in NHRA’s Stock Eliminator and Super Stock classes. National records for quarter-mile times in these contests are in the nine-second range. As such, the COPO Camaros are expected to be the quickest Camaro ever offered by Chevrolet.

Volkswagen Group continues it worldwide surge in February

(March 9, 2012) WOLFSBURG — Global vehicle deliveries by the Volkswagen Group in January and February rose by 7.7 per cent to 1.29 million units. On a world automotive market which was up by roughly 6 per cent, Europe’s largest automaker won market share.

February was particularly satisfactory, with vehicle deliveries totaling 642,300 , a 15.1 per cent gain in units over February 2011.

2013 Ford Escape stars in reality TV series 'Escape Routes'
