GM to invest $331 million in Arlington SUV plant

New auto window stickers revealed

(May 26, 2011) WASHINGTON — The Department of Transportation and the Environmental Protection Agency on Wednesday unveiled new fuel economy window stickers that will be on all cars for model year 2013.

The stickers will show how new vehicles rate on a scale of 1-to-10 on fuel economy and emissions, the Obama administration said as it dropped a controversial proposal to use letter grades.

IIHS finds in latest tests that small cars are getting safer

(May 26, 2011) ARLINGTON, Va. — Six of 13 small cars recently evaluated by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety earned the Top Safety Pick award, and none earned a poor rating in any of four tests.

This is a turnaround from a few years ago when small cars struggled to earn top safety ratings. The new tests included hybrids and gasoline-only models that are among the most fuel-efficient vehicles available in the U.S. market.

TrueCar forecasts slump in May sales; gain in market share for Hyundai
