Ford reports highest net income in more than 10 years

(January 28, 2011) DEARBORN, Mich. — Ford today reported 2010 full year net income of $6.6 billion, or $1.66 per share, an increase of $3.8 billion, or 80 cents per share, from 2009. This was Ford’s highest net income in more than 10 years, as strong products and new investments fueled improvements in all of the company’s business operations around the world.

2011 auto sales appear off to a steady start

(January 28, 2011) SANTA MONICA, Calif. — This month's new car sales (including fleet sales) are expected to be approximately 816,000 units, a 17.3 percent increase from January 2010 but a 28.4 percent decrease from December 2010, according to Edmunds.com. Retail sales are expected to be approximately 661,000 units, down from approximately 947,000 last month.

Chevrolet accelerates rollout of Volt

Mazda to lease electric vehicles in Japan
