Cadillac Escalade leads 'most stolen' list

(August 3, 2010) The government is pushing small fuel-efficient cars, but apparantly thieves are still more interested in big vehicles and big engines.

Based on insurance claims the 2007-09 Cadillac Escalade, a luxury SUV, followed by the Ford F-250 crew pickup, Infiniti G37 luxury car, and Dodge Charger with a HEMI engine are the most stolen vehicles in the U.S.

A new standard of flexible manufacturing for Ford

(August 2, 2010) TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. — When production of the all-new 2012 Ford Focus begins later this year, Ford Motor Company’s newly transformed Michigan Assembly Plant will be the company’s new benchmark for flexible manufacturing around the world.

Michigan Assembly is one of three truck plants in North America that Ford is revamping to make fuel-efficient passenger cars.  The plant will build the new Focus and Focus Electric beginning next year with more models coming in the future.

Concept EN-V takes joy ride on streets of Shanghai

(August 2, 2010) SHANGHAI — Relegated to the stage at the World Expo 2010 Shanghai since it opened in May, an EN-V concept vehicle slipped away last week for a 10-minute joy ride down Shanghai’s fashionable Huaihai Road.

EN-V, which is short for Electric Networked-Vehicle, is a two-seat electric vehicle designed to alleviate concerns surrounding traffic congestion, parking availability, air quality and affordability for tomorrow’s cities.

Ford completes sale of Volvo to Geeley

(August 2, 2010) DEARBORN, Mich —  Ford today announced it has completed the sale of Volvo Car Corporation and related assets to the Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Company Limited.

The total purchase price for Volvo and related assets set forth in the agreement signed in March 2010 was $1.8 billion, including a $200 million note and the balance in cash, with the cash portion subject to customary purchase price adjustments at closing.

Ford kicks off return to X Games
