(April 27, 2022) ATLANTA —  Caffeine and Octane, the integrated brand behind North America’s largest monthly car show held at Perimeter Mall in Dunwoody, Ga., announces the return of its internationally acclaimed “Caffeine and Octane” series to broadcast television. Starting May14 “Caffeine and Octane” fans can watch all-new episodes on MotorTrend TV.

Now in its sixth season, the popular car enthusiast TV series continues to feature its co-host trio: classic car historian Skip Smith, world champion motorcycle drag racer Rickey Gadson, and master builder and designer Bryan Fuller.

Overseeing operations since the series debuted on Velocity (now MotorTrend TV) in 2017 are Caffeine and Octane CEO and Producer Bruce Piefke and Executive Producer Ed Coughlin.



“We’re really excited to join the MotorTrend TV family and be back on the automotive TV leader after a short hiatus,” said Piefke. “Given the breadth of automotive shows and special event coverage I think we’ll feel right at home, and so will our enthusiastic fans.”



“The success of the show continues to be driven by our desire to seek out the most unique and diverse car enthusiast stories,” said Coughlin. ”From an Episcopal bishop who finds inspiration in barn-find Porsches to a graffiti artist behind the walls of Toon Town’s cartoon cars to an influential rap artist with a passion for all things automotive, our stories illustrate the common passion that such a diverse group shares.”



New episode highlights include:

    •    Celebrities like rapper and activist Michael "Killer Mike" Render and Blackberry Smoke drummer Brit Turner showing their personal sides and rides and sharing their automotive passions.

    •    Fully custom creations like the world’s fastest C8 Corvette, owned by Anderson Dick of FuelTech, and a 1965 Mark I Ford Cortina with a 500-plus horsepower Holman Moody V8 engine.



    •    Father/son projects like a radically customized 1965 Volkswagen Beetle with a turbocharged Volvo T5 engine, and Bishop Rob Wright of the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta and his son Emmanuel talking about the the cars they purchased and work on together: a 1971 Porsche 914, a 1982 Mercedes-Benz 380 SL, and a 1981 Porsche 928, all lovingly preserved and purchased for under $4,500.  
    
    •    Retired professional race car driver Hurley Haywood taking co-host Skip Smith on a tour of The Brumos Collection in Jacksonville, Fla. and its collection of both historically significant cars and famous Brumos race cars like the Porsche 914/6 Haywood co-drove with Peter Gregg and the iconic Brumos Porsche 917/10 Can-Am race car. Smith also takes a spin with Haywood as they experience a Porsche 918 Spyder supercar wearing the universally recognizable Brumos livery.

    •    Current pro race driver Katherine Legge touring the Caffeine and Octane car show in search of interesting European cars. Legge co-drives the No. 99 Team Hardpoint Porsche 911 GT3R competing in the GT Daytona class in the 2022 IMSA Weathertech SportsCar Championship.  

    •    And a visit to Caffeine and Octane Jacksonville, the organization’s new sister show held the second Saturday of the month at The Avenues Mall in Jacksonville, Fla. Viewers will see the talented graffiti artist KBMER as he takes a 1999 Saturn and uses it as a canvas and creates a work of art in one day with co-host Bryan Fuller’s help.


Past “Caffeine and Octane” episodes are exclusively available on HighOctane.tv, the organization’s new worldwide streaming network for motoring enthusiasts. The downloadable streaming app is available on Roku, Amazon Fire, Android TV, and LG and Samsung smart televisions.
