Mecum Auctions returns to Kansas City March 16-17

(February 23, 2018) WALWORTH, Wis. — Mecum Auctions is gearing up for its return to the Kansas City Convention Center this March 16-17 to continue one of the company’s longest-running annual auctions. Mecum Kansas City 2018 will mark the company’s 25th year of collector-car auctions in Kansas City, Mo., and the event is slated to present an estimated 700 American muscle cars, classics, Corvettes, Hot Rods, Resto Mods and more for auction. 

Headlining consignments slated for Mecum Kansas City 2018 include a 1968 Shelby GT350 Convertible that is one of two produced as-equipped, according to the 1968 SAAC Registrar. Delivered new through Northwestern Motor Car Company in Milwaukee as a company car for A.O.

1940 Ford Deluxe Convertible

Smith, Shelby No. 02778 remains in highly original condition, and it is also one of just 15 Shelby GT350s produced in 1968 with its specific paint and trim codes.

Other featured offerings slated to cross the block in Kansas City include a restored 1940 Ford Deluxe Convertible with a 24-stud 239 cubic-inch flathead V-8 engine, a 1970 Pontiac Trans Am with a 400/366 HP engine and 4-speed transmission, and a mostly original 1966 Ford Mustang Convertible with a 289 cubic-inch engine.
