Mecum’s 2022 Tulsa Collector Car Auction reaches $17 million in sales

(June 20, 2022) Mecum Auctions held its second annual auction in Tulsa, Okla., with sales at its June 9-11 return to SageNet Center at Expo Square reaching $17 million in total. The sophomore event drew large, enthusiastic crowds over the course of the three auction days as a total of 643 vehicles crossed the auction block and a 77% sell-through rate was achieved.
Top individual sales at Mecum Tulsa 2022 were led by a variety of selections, ranging from classics and muscle cars to modern performance vehicles, with each of the top 10 lots selling in the six-figure range. Laying claim to spot No. 1 was a 1965 Shelby Cobra CSX4000 Series Roadster , CSX4343, which sold for $409,750, followed by a 1965 Mercury Comet A/FX Lightweight from The Tommy Cronk Collection that was one of just eight built by Bill Stroppe and that sold for an impressive $313,500.

Landing the No. 3 slot among top sales was a 2019 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT R that sold for $189,750. Driving home the diverse options available in Tulsa, a 1985 Toyota FJ-45 Land Cruiser Custom took the auction’s fourth high-seller slot at a sale price of $173,250. Other top sellers included a 2010 Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder and a 1969 Plymouth Hemi Road Runner Coupe, each of which demanded a final sale price of $165,000, as well as a 1970 Dodge Charger R/T that brought $152,900.
