Callaway Cars, Bob Bondurant Driving School collaborate on products

(March 22, 2015) — Callaway Cars has announced a partnership with the Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving to create limited edition products along with unique experiences of driving high performance vehicles. The historic agreement was made official by legends Bob Bondurant and Reeves Callaway.

“Callaway Cars and Bondurant Driving School have been leaders in the world of high performance for decades,” said Callaway, founder and CEO of Callaway Cars. “In fact, our paths first crossed in the early 1970's when Bob invited me to be one of his first driving instructors. I'm pleased to have come full circle and once again work with the legendary Bob Bondurant. Together, we'll give enthusiasts the opportunity to truly enjoy a high octane lifestyle.”

The melding of these two iconic brands will drive Callaway and Bondurant to gain an even larger presence in the automotive performance and motorsport experience markets. Both have deep ties to General Motors and its line of vehicles. Callaway currently offers cutting edge, performance enhancing packages for the Chevrolet Corvette, Camaro, Silverado, Tahoe and Suburban. Bondurant offers several different driving instruction programs featuring Chevrolet products headlined by the Corvette.

“I'm thrilled to be working with Reeves again,” said Bondurant. “He and his team have created vehicles that are incredibly capable. From top speed record holders to fantastic racecars, Callaway badges are a sign of superior performance. We are proud of the company we keep and Callaway falls into that category.”

Bondurant is one of the world's greatest driving heroes. For a decade prior to opening his school in 1968, Bob was winning on practically anything on wheels. From motorcycles to sports cars and Formula One single seaters, he dominated racing. Some of his most famous achievements include winning Le Mans, driving for Ferrari in F1, and being a key contributor to an FIA World Championship.

He was instrumental in helping Chevrolet establish the Corvette as a performance car. In 1959, he captured the West Coast “B” Production Championship and Corvette Driver of the Year Award.

From 1960 to 1963, he drove Corvettes on the way to winning 30 of the 32 races he entered. On February 14, 1968, he established the Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving. The largest purpose-built driving school in the world, it teaches competition driving, police pursuit driving, evasive driving, stunt driving and other courses.
