54th annual LA Roadster Show returns June 15-16

(April 13, 2018) POMONA, Calif. — The LA Roadster Show, America’s premier event for pre-1936 roadster and hot rod enthusiasts put on by the LA Roadsters car club, returns to the Fairplex in Pomona on Father’s Day weekend, June 15-16. One of the longest-running roadster exhibitions in the world, the event will feature the world’s largest gathering of pre-1936 roadsters as well as its historic on-site swap meet.

The LA Roadsters Car Club has deep roots in the Southern California car scene. Founded in 1957 as a small group of incredibly dedicated enthusiasts of pre-war roadsters, the distinctive red shirts worn by its members represent a badge of vehicular honor.

In 1960 the club hosted the first LA Roadster Show and Swap Meet, which has become a Father’s Day weekend staple in the Southern California area, drawing attendees from across North America. As one of the oldest continuously operating car clubs in the country, the LA Roadsters proudly carry on the tradition of street rodding safety, family unity and camaraderie amongst the members and other clubs.

This year’s show will feature hundreds of the most spectacular pre-1936 roadsters and cabriolets ever gathered for display. Members of the LA Roadsters Car Club will show over 20 of their own colorful creations. From flames and flares to chrome and candy-apple paint, attendees will find remarkable examples of historic roadsters at the show.

In addition to the roadsters, the show will feature hundreds of pre-1977 cars and trucks. Hot rods, customs, lowriders, muscle cars and more will shine in the summer sun. A selection of these stunning vehicles, as well as a huge variety of rare and hard to find parts, will also be available for purchase at the swap meet.

By combining industry-leading vendors with the immense swap meet, enthusiasts will find a great collection of rare and custom parts at the show.

The big change for 2018 is the move to a Friday and Saturday event schedule to avoid conflicts with Father’s Day on Sunday. The show will open to the public on Friday, June 15, from 7a.m. to 5 p.m. and will continue Saturday. General admission for attendees ages 13 and up is $20, children ages 6-12 are $10, and children ages 5 and under get in free.
