(April 14, 2022) For years we’ve been hearing rumors of a powerful phantom Cadillac sedan by the name of Blackwing. Of course, we’ve been well acquainted with Cadillac’s CTS-V sedan which has been among the luxury brand’s offerings for several years. That vehicle was discontinued when the Blackwing was finally launched for 2022, available in two flavors: a compact CT4-V and a midsize CT5-V.

Consumers finding some relief at the pump

(April 12, 2022) WASHINGTON, D.C.  — The cost of gasoline has continued to slide due to falling oil prices. The global oil market has seen lower prices since the U.S. and its allies agreed to significant releases of oil reserves. Also weighing down oil prices is the fear of resurgent COVID-19 infections in China and its potential for an economic slowdown in one of the world’s largest oil-consuming nations. Domestically, the national average for a gallon of gas has fallen to $4.11.

New-vehicle transaction prices decline, but remain about MSRP

(April 11, 2022) WASHINGTON, D.C. — Owners of new vehicles equipped with driving assistance technology may understand it better after six months of use, but the depth of their knowledge is limited. New AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety research shows that a “learn as you go” approach still leaves gaps in understanding when compared to another group of drivers who had a very strong grasp of the technology, partially due to a brief intensive hands-on training session.

(April 7, 2022) MIAMI — The Great American Sports Car will celebrate its 70th birthday next year, but like fine wine and quality bourbon, it just keeps getting better with age. The 2022 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is every bit as revolutionary as the first production model that rolled off the assembly line in Flint, Mich., on June 30, 1953 (the famed Bowling Green, Ky., plant didn’t open until June 1, 1981).

2022 Honda Civic SI — A Seriously fun sports sedan at a bargain price

(April 6, 2022) After skipping the 2021 model year Honda has brought back an 11th generation 2022 Civic Si to go along with the complete redo for the entire Civic lineup. All the things we liked about the new Civic introduced earlier this year are carried over to the Si. It isn’t the most eye-catching sedan on the market or even in its class, but handsome just the same especially with my test Si adorned in Blazing Pearl Orange metallic paint with black and red interior.

Oil prices fall after release from Strategic Petroleum Reserve

(April 5, 2022) WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Biden’s decision to release one million barrels of oil per day for six months (180 million barrels) from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) helped send the global oil price tumbling to near $100 barrel. The release is intended to stem rising energy prices. The national average for a gallon of gas has fallen 6 cents to $4.18.
