Hyundai gets into truck market with Santa Cruz pickup

(March 7, 2022) The 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe is the South Korean automaker’s first venture in the pickup segment, though with its sleeker styling and compact box it likely is going to appeal to a different audience from the traditional truck shopper. Hyundai does’t even call it a truck, preferring to label it a “Sports Activity Vehicle.”

And yet, U.S. government data shows traffic fatalities have surged, along with an increase in crashes involving impairment, speeding, red-light running, aggressiveness, and non-seatbelt use, to its highest level in over a decade.

San Francisco becomes first major U.S. city to reach $5 gas



(March 4, 2022) BOSTON — San Francisco on March 3 became the first major U.S. city to reach an average gas price of $5 per gallon, according to GasBuddy. Prices have continued to increase in the area since October, when San Francisco first broke its all-time record high of $4.73 per gallon.

(March 4, 2022) ORLANDO, Fla. — Americans battling the polar vortex will soon face a greater enemy — pothole season. A new survey from AAA found that last year 1 in 10 drivers sustained vehicle damage significant enough to warrant a repair after hitting a pothole. With an average price tag of almost $600 per repair, damage caused by potholes cost drivers a staggering $26.5 billion in 2021 alone.
