States see jump at gas pump following Thanksgiving



(December 1, 2020) WASHINGTON, D.C. — Following the Thanksgiving holiday, the national gas price average is more expensive. At $2.12, it is two cents more than a week ago, but remains cheaper compared to last month (-2 cents) and last year (-46 cents). Across the country, motorists in nearly 30 states are paying more at the pump on the week with states along the I-95 corridor seeing the largest jump: Delaware (+15 cents), Maryland (+8 cents), Pennsylvania (+7 cents), New Jersey (+6 cents) and North Carolina (+6 cents).

(November 30, 2020) For decades, the magic of the Chevrolet Corvette is its huge performance bang for the buck. The newest C8-generation Chevrolet Corvette carries on that tradition. This mid-engine Corvette finally spread the curtains, stepping on stage as a 2020 model. Not much, including the price, changes for 2021. What best characterizes the newest Corvette is its beefy big-performance V8, placed amidships, civilized driving manners and Christmas-come-early affordable base price. It may now look and act like a high-performance supercar, but its price certainly doesn't reflect that status.

That is, if you’re able to find a dealer that hasn’t added thousands of dollars in markup. If you can find one at sticker price, we suggest you run out and buy it.

J.D. Power predicts vehicle sales to decline slightly in November



(November 27, 2020) New-vehicle retail sales for November are expected to decline marginally from November 2019, according to a joint forecast from J.D. Power and LMC Automotive. Retail sales for new vehicles are projected to reach 1,040,000 units, a 0.7% decrease compared with November 2019 when adjusted for selling days. November 2020 contains three fewer selling days and one less selling weekend when compared with November 2019. Comparing the same sales volume without adjusting for the number of selling days translates to a decrease of 12.2% year over year.

Edmunds analysts note that automakers have pulled back on incentives for the holiday due to shortages in inventory created by the coronavirus pandemic.

Gas prices ahead of Thanksgiving lowest since 2015



(November 24, 2020) WASHINGTON, D.C. — At $2.10, this Thanksgiving’s national gas price average is shaping up to be the lowest since 2015. The holiday weekend average that year was a nickel cheaper at $2.05. Today, nearly half of all states have gas price averages that are 50 to 75 cents cheaper than a year ago. West coast states are seeing the biggest year-over-year savings, while the majority of southern states’ averages are $1.99/gallon or less.

GasBuddy finds 45% fewer travelers on the road this Thanksgiving



(November 19, 2020) BOSTON — The Thanksgiving travel season will be notably different this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. GasBuddy, the travel and navigation app, has released its 2020 Annual Thanksgiving Travel Survey, finding that only 35% of Americans will be taking to the roads this year, a decrease from 65% from last year, amidst some of the lowest Thanksgiving gas prices the country has seen in years.
