Pump prices and crude oil continue to push cheaper

J.D. Power forecasts new-vehicle sales to be down slightly in January

(February 2, 2020) New-vehicle retail sales in January are expected to be down from a year ago, according to a forecast developed jointly by J.D. Power and LMC Automotive. Retail sales are projected to reach 854,900 units, a -0.4% decrease compared with January 2019.

J.D. Power and LMC Automotive are forecasting full year 2020 retail sales to reach 13.48 million units, a decline of 205,000 units from 2019.

AAA — Fatal crashes involving marijuana increase after legalization

(February 3, 2020) WASHINGTON, D.C. — A concerning number of Washington state drivers involved in fatal crashes are testing positive for recent use of marijuana, according to new research from the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety. The share of drivers who, after a fatal crash, tested positive for active THC — the drug’s main psychoactive ingredient — has doubled since the state legalized marijuana in December 2012.
