(October 13, 2015) WASHINGTON — After 13 consecutive days of holding steady at $2.29 per gallon, the national average price for regular unleaded gasoline began ticking higher last week, reaching today’s price of $2.31 per gallon. Today’s average represents an increase of two cents per gallon compared to one week ago.

Gas prices hold steady as seasonal decline temporarily stalls

(October 6, 2015) WASHINGTON — Pump prices remain relatively stable, with today’s national average price for regular unleaded gasoline holding at $2.29 per gallon for the 12th consecutive day. Today’s average price is up by fractions of a penny compared to one week ago, but has moved lower for 43 of the past 49 days, providing drivers with a savings of 12 cents per gallon month-over-month, according to statistics released by AAA.

Significant yearly discounts remain with drivers saving $1.01 per gallon on average, largely attributed to cheaper crude oil and ample gasoline supplies.

Survey finds mistrust of VW brand rides high; crisis could spread

(October 5, 2015) IRVINE, Calif —  Kelley Blue Book kbb.com and Autotrader today report that more than 70 percent of KBB.com survey respondents believe the diesel emissions issue could spread beyond just Volkswagen. As for the brand's reputation, the majority of those surveyed say they have "complete" or "general mistrust" in Volkswagen.

In addition, according to a recent Autotrader Quick Poll, 30 percent of respondents say they would be less likely to consider a diesel vehicle.

Survey: Entrepreneurs rely on versatility in their vehicles to grow business

(October 2, 2015) DEARBORN, Mich. — Small business owners often need vehicles that can do double duty helping them grow their businesses while keeping their busy families on the move, finds a new survey by Ford and Manta, an online resource dedicated to small business.

Only 42 percent of respondents use their business vehicles for business reasons all the time. One quarter drive their business vehicle for nonbusiness-related travel 25 percent of the time, while another 17 percent drive their business vehicle for personal use half the time.

Survey finds Volkswagen's reputation takes big hit with vehicle owners

(October 2, 2015) TUSTIN, Calif. — A just completed survey by marketing and consulting firm AutoPacific reveals only one out of four vehicle owners have a positive opinion of Volkswagen following the recently unveiled diesel deception, compared to three out of four prior to hearing the news.

Kelley reports new-car transaction prices up 2 percent from a year ago

(October 1, 2015) IRVINE, Calif. — The analysts at Kelley Blue Book today report the estimated average transaction price (ATP) for light vehicles in the United States was $33,730 in September. New car prices have increased by $660 — or 2 percent — from September 2014, while climbing $167 from last month.

"Transaction prices continue to rise, with month-over-month increases spurred primarily by luxury utility vehicles, while year-over-year numbers are driven by strength in trucks, vans, crossovers and full-size cars," said Akshay Anand, analyst for Kelley Blue Book.
