2015 Hyundai Sonata wins midsize sedan challenge

(November 17, 2014) CHICAGO — Cars.com, USA Today and MotorWeek  have named the 2015 Hyundai Sonata the winner of its annual Midsize Sedan Challenge. The Challenge put 10 of the most popular midsize sedans against each other in a series of expert and car shopper testing to determine which was the overall best-in-class.

In addition to the 2015 Hyundai Sonata, competitors included the 2015 Chevrolet Malibu, 2015 Chrysler 200, 2015 Ford Fusion, 2015 Honda Accord, 2015 Mazda6, 2015 Nissan Altima, 2015 Subaru Legacy, 2015 Toyota Camry and the 2015 Volkswagen Passat.

Mercedes-Benz, Mini rank highest in J.D. Power sales satisfaction study

(November 14, 2014) WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. — Mercedes-Benz ranked highest in sales satisfaction among all brands and led the luxury ranking, with a score of 761. The German company also improved the most — 33 points — from 2013 in the J.D. Power 2014 U.S. Sales Satisfaction Index (SSI) Study released today.

Survey finds falling gas prices may boost holiday spending

(November 12, 2014) ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Declining gas prices may increase holiday spending this year — especially among men and those ages 18-34, according to a new national survey measuring consumer optimism.

For the first time in two years, a majority of men (51%) are optimistic about the economy and an even greater percentage of younger consumers (56%) are optimistic — and both groups say that they are more likely to increase their spending this holiday season.

J.D. Power: Customers paying more, waiting longer for rental car

(November 11, 2014) WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. — Higher costs and longer waiting times have leveled off the upward trend in rental car satisfaction the industry has experienced since 2009, according to the J.D. Power 2014 North America Rental Car Satisfaction Study released today.

Now in its 19th year, the study measures overall customer satisfaction with rental cars at airport locations by examining six factors (listed in order of importance): cost and fees; pick-up process; return process; rental car; shuttle bus/van; and reservation process.

A new survey commissioned by AT&T and Dr. David Greenfield, founder of The Center for Internet and Technology Addiction and Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at The University of Connecticut School of Medicine, found that twice as many people as self-reported cell phone addiction are showing compulsive phone behaviors with three-in-four people admitting to at least glancing at their phones while behind the wheel.
