(November 22, 2022) Completely ground-up redesigned and all-new for the 2022 model year, the excellent and luxurious QX60 rolls into 2023 with its dramatic styling, post interior class swagger missing from the previous generation model. The QX60 is a mid-to-large luxury crossover with three-row, six or seven-passenger seating and all-wheel-drive. Since it was all-new last year, there’s few changes for 2023 including a wireless charging pad, frameless rearview mirror and minor gloss-black accents on the exterior.

Available in a choice of four trim levels we drove the top-spec Autograph model that’s loaded with luxury content like Saddle Brown leather-wrapped seats with diamond stitching and contrasting colored piping, second-row captain’s chairs with embossed “Autograph” stitching on the headrests. Black open pore ash wood interior trim and chrome accents in the front cabin area and ambient lighting sets the relaxed mood. A massive panoramic sunroof runs the entire length of the cabin.

“Zero gravity” front seats are among the most comfortable we’ve tested in any vehicle, and were designed at Yamakazi Laboratory at Keio University, crafted to intentionally “more closely follow the natural curvatures of the human spine to reduce pressure on the hips.”

Our Autograph also included luxed up niceties such as massaging heated and ventilated front seats,  a three-zone climate system with an air purifier, power tilt-telescoping steering wheel, a motion-activated power liftgate, 17-speaker Bose stereo system, and a 10.8-inch head-up display. The further attention to detail includes hidden air vents, and haptic-touch controls making for a clean and modern-look interior.

Power is delivered by a 295-hp V-6 engine with a new nine-speed automatic transmission. On the road, acceleration for interstate entrances is excellent however the ride errs a bit on the firm side. Transmission shifts are with smooth and body motion was well controlled when cornering. The cabin is exceptionally quiet, visibility is excellent.

Safety features include rear automatic braking, predictive forward collision warning, and forward emergency braking with pedestrian detection. Adaptive front lighting and auto-leveling headlights are included. The QX60 also gets Nissan’s ProPilot Assist hands-on driver assist features.

With gorgeous exterior styling and posh, luxurious interior the new QX60 is first-class luxury travel with upper-class swagger.
